Investigation Update 7.23.2017

What a busy, busy week we just had full of activity and fun! Here is just a little bit of the lots of activity we collected this past seven days-

Kelley took over for the first investigation of the week on Monday with a fairly big group what was super excited to join us in the building. One of the biggest overarching and common types of activity the investigators noticed that night was the distinct temperature drops that happened all over the building. All over the warehouse they noticed that the temperature would drop drastically, as much as ten degrees, all which they documented using the Digital Thermometer.

The investigators also noticed that the word "Death" came through quite a bit and fairly frequently in different hot spots, as well as the phrase "A death". These words and phrases were combined with other phrases and words that had to do with being sick and dying. They heard "Help", "He's sick", "I'm done" and "Enough".

One of the investigators in the building that night had a very personal and sensitive moment while in the Slave Quarters. For what seemed like no reason whatsoever she felt an overwhelming rush of emotion that was so strong she started to cry. When she went to Kelley and told her about it, even the thought of that situation made her start to cry again...

Tuesday night had Willie as the lead investigator with a great group of folks, two of whom had investigated with Willie a few years ago. This time, they came back with their own equipment and were super pumped up about a second shot in the building.

The REM Pod did its thing that night, what it does almost every time Willie is the lead investigator. Once he turned on the device and set it down and walked away the Pod started to flash, and then did again once he started the History portion of the night. It's almost like the Spirits in the building know what Willie is expecting of them. Pretty interesting.

One of the men investigating in the group was holding the Ovilus as he walked towards the Stage Area. Before he stepped up on Stage he accidentally kicked the stage side and the Ovilus flashed the word "Jerk". This was memorable because the word stayed up on the screen until he called his wife over and she saw it on there.

Ted was back in the building on Wednesday night! He got to investigate with a mother and daughter pair who were really curious about how their night would go but were familiar with the Gribble House because of all the Ghost Shows that they watch!

The investigators were greeted as they entered each hot spot that night, although some times it wasn't very welcoming. When they got to the Stage Area they heard "Get out" and when they moved to the Slave Quarters they heard "Hello". The same thing happened in the Gribble House area, but when they moved into the Residual Area, the daughter investigating heard her named called as way of greeting... "Haley".

The Slave Quarters had some really great activity that night, the ladies had some amazing question and response time in that hot spot. They asked "What is your name", "Stewie". "What can we do for you", "Nothing". "How old are you", "50". "Did you die in this house", "I don't know". Then they asked "Can you make this light flicker I am holding", and they heard "Yes ma'am", which was followed by her K-II Meter flashing all the way up to red.

Thursday had Ted as lead investigator again and yet again we had some repeat investigators who had been with us way back in 2013! That mother and daughter got to head straight into the building that night and skip the history and equipment portion because they already knew the ropes. The other folks in the building that night were really excited to get inside the Gribble House.

One of the investigators, Teresa, heard her name come through the Spirit Box several times that night just like it had happened the first time she was in the building several years ago. This happened the most at the Stage Area. There were a lot of names flying around the building that night, including Paul, Ted, Anne, John, Pete, Peter, Teresa, Autumn, Steve, Benjamin, and Bingo.

In the Residual Area, the Raggedy Ann doll was really active. When they asked "Who is touching the doll" they heard the reply of "We are"...

Kaitlyn was the lead investigator on Friday night on an evening that started out really strangely. As Kaitlyn was explaining how the night would go the investigators heard what sounded like shuffling feet behind them. Whenever she would stop talking the shuffling would get quiet, and when she would start taking again it would start up and get progressively louder as she spoke. Creepy.

Paul was his regular old self that night with his responses. When they asked any yes or no questions they heard appropriate replies, all intermixed with the occasional "Ass" and "Idiot", which is pretty typical of Paul and his attitude. It was while the investigators were at the Stage Area that they felt a cold gust of wind go passed them, which is really very strange on a night when the building was muggy and still.

In the Gribble House the investigators were hit by the overwhelming scent of perfume, which is common but hasn't happened in a few days for us. It was so overpowering that it lingered and filtered into the general part of the warehouse. It also seemed like one of the child spirits that they were speaking with was trying to play hide and seek with one of the mothers of the group.

Finally, Kelley took over as the lead investigator on Saturday- a night booked full of people! The building was super active and the whole evening was marked with the sounds of creepy whispers and breathy responses through the Spirit Box. It was almost like the spirits didn't have enough energy to communicate but were trying to come through regardless. One of the pairs who was in the building had been with us twice before and were happy to be back.

Kelley placed a metal folding chair in the Residual Area before the investigation began. When she was walking the investigators around the building showing them the hot spots, it sounded like someone sat down on the chair because it squeaked and creaked like a body was sitting down into it. This happened twice throughout the night and both times there was no one there.

One of the ladies investigating that night had a pair of jeans on that had rips in them and the strings of the rips were hanging down. At one point she mentioned that it felt like someone was pulling on the strings hard enough that she felt she was being pulled herself. First she asked if anyone was pulling on her and heard "I was". When she asked again the only reply she got was "What"? A few minutes later, another lady said she felt like someone was touching her legs and feet.

What a good week. If you have anything to share, please tag us with the #gribblehouse or @gribblehouse so we can see!
