It was Thanksgiving this past week, and we had a fantastic time. Savannah was full of holiday visitors, and a whole lot of them were eager to investigate with us in the Gribble House. Here's some of what happened in the building:
Kait (Yay! Kait is back!) was our lead investigator on Monday night. There seemed to be a lot of strange activity happening in the building that night. The speakers being used with the Spirit Boxes turned on and off almost all night long, without any of the investigators touching them. The Raggedy Ann Doll and the EMF Detectors were flashing almost in sync for a good portion of the evening, as well.
In the Slave Quarters, Kait asked how many spirits were in the room with them and they heard "Six" come through. But when they asked if the six could tell them their names, they heard the reply of "Can't". When they moved to the Stage Area and asked for names, though, they heard the name "Andrea" come through while the EMF Detector was flashing. In the Gribble House area the EMF activity continued and the investigators smelled that same floral scent. Awesome!
On Tuesday night Ted was our lead investigator on a night where everyone was excited to investigate- all of them had watched the Ghost Adventure shows. They had a lot of activity all over the building. On this night, they started at the Stage Area where they immediately heard from a little child. They asked "How old are you" and they heard "Four" come through. That was the only response from the child they heard because the next name they heard was "Steve". Towards the end of their time there an unsettling reply came through the Spirit Box. The investigators asked "What would you like us to do" and they heard "Die".
They heard from another child spirit in the Gribble House area. They asked straight off "What is your name" and the investigators heard "Rudy". When they asked Rudy how old he was they heard "Ten". "Are you buried close to here" they asked. "Yes".
In the Slave Quarters, the activity centered around one of the boys investigating, Conner. The K-II Meter he was holding was flashing steadily and so they asked "Do you like Conner"? "Kid" came through the Ghost Box. A few moments later they heard "Conner" so they asked "Are you Conner's friend" and they got the reply of "Yes". When they started to sing Ring Around the Roses, the Raggedy Ann doll started to flash.
On the next night, Wednesday, Kelley took the lead. We had another family to investigate with us and they were very ready to go. They brought their own equipment including shadow sensors, flares, Ovilus, cameras, as well as green and red laser grids!
They had children come through at the Stage Area on this night, as well. But, the most dominant voice at the hot spot was a gruff male voice that Kelley was sure was Paul. But, the spirit steadfastly refused to tell them his name, although the name Paul did come through once in a different voice. When they moved to the Slave Quarters, the same male voice followed them and continued to answer questions for them. One word in particular was very popular- "Pocket". This came through over and over.
When it came time to end the evening, the spirit who replied to their "We are going to leave now" was quite rude and dismissive. They heard the reply "I don't give a f*ck".
Kait and Kelley were our lead investigators again on Friday night when we had two investigations. During the first, they heard from a good number of spirits who are not commonly heard from in the building. While in the Slave Quarters they heard from a spirit who called himself "Colonel Ford". When they moved to the Stage Area, they heard from an "Elmer". They also heard a good bit of Spanish being spoken through the Ghost Box, although no one in the building investigating that night was speaking it back.
Colonel Ford followed the investigators throughout the entire building. He told them that his jacket was "Gold", and the investigators talked about how the epaulettes would have been gold. Then they heard "Yes, it's gold" come through the Spirit Box. As they closed their time in the Slave Quarters, they heard a blood curdling scream come through...
It was in the Slave Quarters that they got some of their best responses. They asked how many spirits were in the room with them and they heard "Four". "Did you say four" they asked and they got the same response. Excellent!
The second investigation had a group in it that had been in the Gribble House once before, and the other group own a gym that used to be a funeral home- everyone was familiar with the paranormal. It was a really interesting night with a good bit of creepy activity. There seemed to be more than usual children's voices, as well as lots of orbs and black masses in photographs. It also seemed as though everyone was getting chills all evening long.
The Ghost Box was very chatty, but behind all of the loud and clear conversation were whispers and laughter. This happened quite a bit at the Stage Area, the Gribble House area, and the Slave Quarters but not as much in the Residual Area. They also heard the same word come through in all three of those areas, "Doll". The Raggedy Ann doll flashed all over the building that night.
While in the Gribble House area they asked "Are you a solider", "Yes" came the reply. "Why are you here" to which they heard "I fought" come through. "Is anyone with you" the investigators followed with "What happened to the ladies" and the same voice replied "Fell". They sounded odd so they asked "Are you sure about that?" "Yea" came the reply.
We had two investigations in the building on Saturday night, as well, with Kelley and Kaitlyn as our leads. Everyone in the first investigation had a ton of great Spirit Box replies that were intelligent. They also had great Yes and No Replies from both adults and children. The Ghost Meter Pros were working on cue for everyone.
In the Slave Quarters, one of the groups heard "He was arrested" come through the Spirit Box, so they decided to ask about that. "What was he arrested for", they asked? The reply they heard was sort of comical. They heard "Yes, uh huh, for something". The investigators heard a full name come through- "Bill Holiday". As they spoke with Bill Holiday, he told them that he needed to help a "Girl in Grey", but that he needed "Weapons", and a "Bible".
The other group in the Slave Quarters had some strange activity, as well. They asked the spirits to make the "Red light blink" and just as it started to flash they heard "Isn't it"? Once it stopped flashing, they asked the same question again. This time it stayed solid red and they heard "Could maybe" come through. When it was nearing the end of the night they heard "Damn it, leave" come through five times in a row.
The second investigation was really great, too. Two of those investigating in the second tour had been with us the night before, they were that eager to return!
At the Stage Area, the CCTV cameras were very popular because there seemed to be more than usual amounts of orbs going through the building that were only visible on the screen. The Raggedy Ann doll was set up on the Stage on a metal folding chair and she was flashing quite a bit on the hands. Using the Digital Thermometer they documented a distinct cold spot. They asked who was touching the doll and they heard a name come through, but it was hard to distinguish. It was either "Kat" or "Ken". Although that was hard to hear they heard very clearly two curse words- "Dammit", and "F*ck".
While in the Gribble House area, the investigators heard quite a few names come through the Spirit Box. They heard from a "Raymond", and a "Doug", as well as a "Tom". They also heard the name Lisa, which was the name of one of the investigators. One other name that was called through the Ghost Box quite a few times was "Maggie".
It was a super holiday week for us, and we are looking forward to the month ahead. Thanks to all who investigated with us. If you have anything you'd like to share, tag us with the @gribblehouse or #gribblehouse- or even send it direct!
