Investigation Update 11.27.2016

It was Thanksgiving this past week, and we had a fantastic time. Savannah was full of holiday visitors, and a whole lot of them were eager to investigate with us in the Gribble House. Here's some of what happened in the building:

Kait (Yay! Kait is back!) was our lead investigator on Monday night. There seemed to be a lot of strange activity happening in the building that night. The speakers being used with the Spirit Boxes turned on and off almost all night long, without any of the investigators touching them. The Raggedy Ann Doll and the EMF Detectors were flashing almost in sync for a good portion of the evening, as well.

In the Slave Quarters, Kait asked how many spirits were in the room with them and they heard "Six" come through. But when they asked if the six could tell them their names, they heard the reply of "Can't". When they moved to the Stage Area and asked for names, though, they heard the name "Andrea" come through while the EMF Detector was flashing. In the Gribble House area the EMF activity continued and the investigators smelled that same floral scent. Awesome!

On Tuesday night Ted was our lead investigator on a night where everyone was excited to investigate- all of them had watched the Ghost Adventure shows. They had a lot of activity all over the building. On this night, they started at the Stage Area where they immediately heard from a little child. They asked "How old are you" and they heard "Four" come through. That was the only response from the child they heard because the next name they heard was "Steve". Towards the end of their time there an unsettling reply came through the Spirit Box. The investigators asked "What would you like us to do" and they heard "Die".

They heard from another child spirit in the Gribble House area. They asked straight off "What is your name" and the investigators heard "Rudy". When they asked Rudy how old he was they heard "Ten". "Are you buried close to here" they asked. "Yes".

In the Slave Quarters, the activity centered around one of the boys investigating, Conner. The K-II Meter he was holding was flashing steadily and so they asked "Do you like Conner"? "Kid" came through the Ghost Box. A few moments later they heard "Conner" so they asked "Are you Conner's friend" and they got the reply of "Yes". When they started to sing Ring Around the Roses, the Raggedy Ann doll started to flash.

On the next night, Wednesday, Kelley took the lead. We had another family to investigate with us and they were very ready to go. They brought their own equipment including shadow sensors, flares, Ovilus, cameras, as well as green and red laser grids!

They had children come through at the Stage Area on this night, as well. But, the most dominant voice at the hot spot was a gruff male voice that Kelley was sure was Paul. But, the spirit steadfastly refused to tell them his name, although the name Paul did come through once in a different voice. When they moved to the Slave Quarters, the same male voice followed them and continued to answer questions for them. One word in particular was very popular- "Pocket". This came through over and over.

When it came time to end the evening, the spirit who replied to their "We are going to leave now" was quite rude and dismissive. They heard the reply "I don't give a f*ck".

Kait and Kelley were our lead investigators again on Friday night when we had two investigations. During the first, they heard from a good number of spirits who are not commonly heard from in the building. While in the Slave Quarters they heard from a spirit who called himself "Colonel Ford". When they moved to the Stage Area, they heard from an "Elmer". They also heard a good bit of Spanish being spoken through the Ghost Box, although no one in the building investigating that night was speaking it back.

Colonel Ford followed the investigators throughout the entire building. He told them that his jacket was "Gold", and the investigators talked about how the epaulettes would have been gold. Then they heard "Yes, it's gold" come through the Spirit Box. As they closed their time in the Slave Quarters, they heard a blood curdling scream come through...

It was in the Slave Quarters that they got some of their best responses. They asked how many spirits were in the room with them and they heard "Four". "Did you say four" they asked and they got the same response. Excellent!

The second investigation had a group in it that had been in the Gribble House once before, and the other group own a gym that used to be a funeral home- everyone was familiar with the paranormal. It was a really interesting night with a good bit of creepy activity. There seemed to be more than usual children's voices, as well as lots of orbs and black masses in photographs. It also seemed as though everyone was getting chills all evening long.

The Ghost Box was very chatty, but behind all of the loud and clear conversation were whispers and laughter. This happened quite a bit at the Stage Area, the Gribble House area, and the Slave Quarters but not as much in the Residual Area. They also heard the same word come through in all three of those areas, "Doll". The Raggedy Ann doll flashed all over the building that night.

While in the Gribble House area they asked "Are you a solider", "Yes" came the reply. "Why are you here" to which they heard "I fought" come through. "Is anyone with you" the investigators followed with "What happened to the ladies" and the same voice replied "Fell". They sounded odd so they asked "Are you sure about that?" "Yea" came the reply.

We had two investigations in the building on Saturday night, as well, with Kelley and Kaitlyn as our leads. Everyone in the first investigation had a ton of great Spirit Box replies that were intelligent. They also had great Yes and No Replies from both adults and children. The Ghost Meter Pros were working on cue for everyone.

In the Slave Quarters, one of the groups heard "He was arrested" come through the Spirit Box, so they decided to ask about that. "What was he arrested for", they asked? The reply they heard was sort of comical. They heard "Yes, uh huh, for something". The investigators heard a full name come through- "Bill Holiday". As they spoke with Bill Holiday, he told them that he needed to help a "Girl in Grey", but that he needed "Weapons", and a "Bible".

The other group in the Slave Quarters had some strange activity, as well. They asked the spirits to make the "Red light blink" and just as it started to flash they heard "Isn't it"? Once it stopped flashing, they asked the same question again. This time it stayed solid red and they heard "Could maybe" come through. When it was nearing the end of the night they heard "Damn it, leave" come through five times in a row.

The second investigation was really great, too. Two of those investigating in the second tour had been with us the night before, they were that eager to return!

At the Stage Area, the CCTV cameras were very popular because there seemed to be more than usual amounts of orbs going through the building that were only visible on the screen. The Raggedy Ann doll was set up on the Stage on a metal folding chair and she was flashing quite a bit on the hands. Using the Digital Thermometer they documented a distinct cold spot. They asked who was touching the doll and they heard a name come through, but it was hard to distinguish. It was either "Kat" or "Ken". Although that was hard to hear they heard very clearly two curse words- "Dammit", and "F*ck".

While in the Gribble House area, the investigators heard quite a few names come through the Spirit Box. They heard from a "Raymond", and a "Doug", as well as a "Tom". They also heard the name Lisa, which was the name of one of the investigators. One other name that was called through the Ghost Box quite a few times was "Maggie".

It was a super holiday week for us, and we are looking forward to the month ahead. Thanks to all who investigated with us. If you have anything you'd like to share, tag us with the @gribblehouse or #gribblehouse- or even send it direct!

Investigation Update 11.20.2016

Such a great week for us! It's been warm, it's been cool, it's even been almost downright cold in Savannah but we've had some great investigations, nonetheless. Here's a little bit of what's been happening in the building:

Willie was our lead investigator on Sunday night on an evening when the REM Pod was very active. Willie had set it out during the history and set up portion, and while he was explaining how the REM Pod works it started to go off. But it went off even more furiously during the video portion from Ghost Adventures and continued to go off during the entire early portion of the evening. Strangely enough, though, the device was then quiet for the rest of the night.

Several of the investigators took some very interesting photos with orbs zooming around in them. Two of those investigators said that they wanted to take some pictures and then through the Spirit Box they heard their names called- that's always a really cool thing to have happen. Willie brought out the SB-11 and it was very active that night.

On Monday night Willie took the lead again. On this night, the REM Pod was almost completely silent no matter where Willie set it up. But, the Spirit Box was much more active than the previous night. Even more active than the Spirit Box was the Ghost Meter Pro, which they used to get Yes and No responses with. This worked very well for the investigators.

The two men who investigated that evening spent most of the time conversing with a spirit who told them he was a soldier. It seemed like no matter where they went in the building that same spirit followed them around, trying to make contact.

Ted was our lead on Wednesday night with a group of investigators who were all ready and raring to get started. All of them were believers, and all of them were fans of the shows like Ghost Adventures. Some of them had even seen the episode of GA with the Gribble House in it!

The activity began as soon as the investigators got to the Stage Area to begin the night. Ted turned the Ghost Box on when they got to that hot spot and through the device they heard "Speaker... is on". While they were in that area they made contact with Paul, Merv, and Mike. When they moved to the Gribble House area they heard from more spirits who told them their names were Owen, Steve, and Dave. They also heard one of the investigators names in this space- Brett. When they asked who had said the name Brett, they heard the name "Steve" come through.

There was a strange moment in the Slave Quarters while the investigators were talking with a female spirit who told them her name was "Daisy". One of the investigators was looking directly in front of them where the table is located and saw a tall, man shaped shadow figure standing in front of it. Crazy! They asked "Who is keeping you here" to which they heard "Adam" and then another voice saying "F*ck Adam". Then they heard "Get out", followed by another more angry "GET OUT".

Kaitlyn was the lead investigator on Thursday night in the building with two couples who were a little nervous but very excited. One of the men investigating had brought his own Spirit Box and it seemed like everyone had a great night.

On this night they started out in the Residual Area. Kaitlyn was discussing how you could communicate with the spirits through the Spirit Boxes, and then a small voice came through the device on the floor asking "This one?" The Residual Area was fairly quite on this evening, though, so they quickly moved to the Slave Quarters. While in there they noticed that the Spirit Box and Ghost Meter Pro that the one couple was using was much more active than the other. They heard a loud "Get out" come through, and Kaitlyn replied that they wouldn't be leaving for a little bit. Then they heard "Smart ass" come through. Pretty funny!

Orbs were flying all over the CCTV screen when they moved into the Stage Area hot spot. They heard "Run" come through the Spirit Box, so one of the investigators joked that if they heard "Run" come through again that he would meet everyone at the door. Then they heard "No, sir" come through.

On Friday night we had Kelley as our lead investigator. One of the ladies investigating that night was having her birthday, and it seemed like a log of the Ovilus responses they had that evening were directed at her, and were fairly personal- things that no one else would know. The Ovilus kept telling them to go "Upstairs" that evening. Although they didn't go up into the storage area, they did hear movement and noises happening up there each time they saw the word Upstairs come on the screen...

In the Gribble House area, they had some really fantastic responses with the Ghost Box- lots of full phrases and even some questions came through to their own questions. They asked "Are there any ladies that need help in here", and they heard "You want your help to visit today!". Then they asked "If you want me to leave, you could just say it." To this they heard "Fine, we want you to leave... go". Cool!

As they walked into the Slave Quarters, the first thing they heard was "Stupid". This insult was heard all over the building and it happened quite frequently. There was a gruff, and creepy male voice that came through several times while they were in this hot spot and each time it came through it really spooked them. While they were there, they also heard a full name- Mary Fisher.

Finally, Kaitlyn was the lead investigator on Saturday night. Even before the investigation officially began, Kaitlyn noticed that there was activity happening in the building. As she was in the office getting the equipment around on the cart they could hear what sounded like a metal chair being drug around the building across the floor. Very strange.

Another strange moment happened after they were finished watching the history video and she went to turn on the CCTV cameras. Nothing happened! The screen stayed dark, so she took a look at the cables that ran to and from the television. It looked as though the AV cable had been untwisted from the wall and tossed as far away from the outlet as possible. But it had worked before! So very strange.

While they were at the Stage Area they could hear the sound of a child come through the Ghost Box, but they couldn't tell what they were saying, or what gender the child was. When they would try to talk to the child, the Ghost Meter Pro would go off and stay red. Everyone was standing except for one of the ladies and they heard "Sit down" come through. Once she sat down they heard through the Spirit Box "Red light" and then the Ghost Meter Pro went off. Kaitlyn decided to knock on the stage itself and asked if the spirits could knock back so they would know they were there. Nothing happened right away, but about five minutes later there was a loud and, like someone had hit the garage door in the Residual Area.

Investigation Update 11.13.2016

We've settled a bit into our off season in Savannah- the weather is a bit cooler and things will be quiet around town for a few weeks. But investigations in the Gribble House are just as exciting as always. Here's a little bit of the activity we collected this week:

On Monday night, Willie was our lead investigator with a group of folks who were all believers- not a skeptic among them. It was a really strange night in the building, where it seemed like some of the areas of the building were very active and others were silent. The REM Pod and the Raggedy Ann doll were quiet all night long, but the investigators had a lot of luck with the Spirit Boxes and the SB-11.

In the Slave Quarters the investigators made contact with a spirit who told them his name was Louie, and Louie was quiet chatty. He told the investigators that he worked at a General Store and that he knew who Paul was- he talked about Paul quite a bit. He also asked about a female named Em. Although they first heard from Louie in the Slave Quarters, he followed them around the building for the rest of the evening.

Kelley was our lead investigator on Wednesday night. Everyone was excited to investigate, and two of them even have their own paranormal team in their home towns that they work with! Everyone tried to capture straight EVPs by using the Voice Recorder application on their cell phones, and used the app so they could evaluate their Spirit Box activity later on.

The Em that the investigators hear Louie ask about on Monday night was heard from in the Slave Quarters. She spoke to them quite a bit, and was very polite. She said "Yes, sir" and started to follow the investigators around the building. When they asked her how old she was she asked "Me"? Just a few moments later they heard a frightened and urgent "MOTHER" yelled through the Spirit Box in a man's voice.

A lot of names came through the Spirit Box that night. They heard Dave, Jim, Paul, Jacob, John, Alice, Annette, Charlie, Lisa, and Steve come through in various hot spots that evening.

On Friday night Kelley and Kaitlyn took the lead for the investigation on a night that was very, very creepy feeling. The entire building had a deep, dark vibe to it. One of the things that Kelley noticed as they were setting up for the evening was that the deer skull in the Slave Quarters sitting on the window ledge had been moved forward and to the side, as if someone had opening up the window from the outside and pushed it out of the way- impossible. A little bit later on, a piece of ice fell from the ceiling from a pipe- something that had never happened before. During the investigation, Kaitlyn snapped a photo of what appeared to be a woman floating across the warehouse- so strange.

The Gribble House area had some strange phrases and words come through the Spirit Box. Because of some of the communication they had, the investigators believed the were talking to the spirit of a naval officer. They heard "At ease" come through. They also heard the word "Home" come through in rapid succession several times. After they spoke to the naval officer they hear the sounds of children giggling.

At the Stage Area several investigators had physical activity around them. Kelley had her arm brushed, like someone had walked too close to her not once, but twice. Another investigator felt as if someone pulled her hair.

For our Saturday night, Kelley and Kaitlyn were the leads again. One of the most prominent kinds of activity that they heard in the building that night was the sound of whispers through the Ghost Box. Another thing that they noticed was that the spirits seemed to be asking a lot of questions themselves. They heard "Who's this" and "What was that" come through.

At the Stage Area, they investigators asked "What do you need", and they heard "Help" come through as a reply. When they asked "Can you tell us your name" they heard the reply of "Luke", "David", and "Holland" come through in three separate voices. They also heard the names Steve, James, Ivan, Harriet, Charlie, and the full name of Don Allman.

A group of younger ladies investigating had what seemed to be a few children spirits following them around. Through the Spirit Box they heard the name of "Cody" come through when they asked what the names of the kids in the building were. They asked "Will you try and touch the doll" and they heard a sarcastic "Oh, geez no". They asked "Hello, do you want to talk", and the reply was curt- "We don't really need company".

It was a great week for us. If you have anything you'd like to share with us, please tag us with the @gribblehouse or #gribblehouse so we can enjoy it too!
