Investigation Update 8.21.2016

Another great week for us in the Gribble House! And as we do each week, here's a rundown of some of the awesome activity we captured in the building:

Willie was our lead investigator on Sunday night. The investigation started out very well, with the REM Pod going off even before the official portion of the investigation began! Willie say that this happens often- something about when he explains the history of the building makes the space have an uneasy feeling and the REM Pod goes of often during that portion of the night.

But that wasn't the only activity to start pre-hot spot! As they were walking around the space, checking out the different active areas of the building, the man investigating with them that night was looking across the building floor and distinctly saw something dart across from one end to the other! This was over in the area where the Lady in White has been photographed, and made contact with. Awesome!

The strange events didn't stop there. The investigators were in the Slave Quarters making contact with both Steve and Paul when one of the lights stopped working. Not only did it shut off, but it shined blue before kicking off. Very strange.

Willie took the lead again on Monday night, on an evening that was just as active as the night before.

This time, the REM Pod was the star of the show. It seemed to go off almost constantly- and that started during the History Portion of the night, too! Throughout the evening, the device went off, flashing to indicate both movement, and temperature fluctuations. That is always a cool thing.

On Tuesday night, Kait was our lead investigator, and on this evening, the investigators started in the Slave Quarters. While they were in there, they made contact with a spirit who told them that his name was "Norman". Norman was not a very nice guy to talk to. He called Kait a "Bitch" as she walked in, but worse, one of the ladies investigating felt a tightening around her throat. When she said something about it, over the Spirit Box they heard the word "Good" come through...

Children could be heard in several areas of the building on Tuesday night. They heard from a little boy at the Stage Area who was willing to touch the EMF Detector, but they couldn't entice him into touching the Raggedy Ann doll. A little bit later on, when they had moved into the Gribble House hot spot, another child's voice came through- this time it sounded more like a little girl. Again, she wanted to touch the EMF Detector when asked, but the Raggedy Ann doll stayed quiet.

Wednesday night had Kait as the lead investigator again. This night was very active for the investigators, with some pretty strange stuff happening all over the building. The night started out in the Slave Quarters, where they made contact with Steve almost right away. Steve was not in the mood for company on Wednesday night, and told the investigators to "Get out" as soon as they walked into the space. One of the ladies started to sing in response to Steve's demand they go, and he didn't appreciate that either. "Stop it" came through the Ghost Box. Paul was in the Slave Quarters too, and was in just as standoffish a mood. When they asked Paul if he wanted to talk "No", came through.

One of the spirits in the building that night was playing a trick on them. They made contact with a spirit in the Gribble House area who told them his name was "Mark". When they asked Mark how old he was, he told them "Twelve". The odd thing about that was Mark sounded like he was closer to about fifty years old, with a very deep voice. While they were talking to Mark, some of the ladies caught that familiar scent of floral perfume wafting around the Gribble House hot spot.

Another cool event took place at the Stage Area. One of the investigators asked the spirits to make the curtains there move- and they did! The curtains started waving, and when they would stop, the investigators asked them to do it again- and they did! Pretty awesome.

Kelley was our lead investigator on Thursday night. There were some really great conversations through the Ghost Box that evening, and the investigators were able to capture some orbs in their photos, which is always a plus.

Near the Gribble House hot spot, but not quite inside, the REM Pod was flashing like made- for both movement and temperature fluctuations. Right around the same time, the Spirit Box was yelling out words while the Ovilus was set on Question and Answer. They heard and read these words: Enough, Leave, Ghost, Spirit, and "You with the bracelet".

When the investigators asked "Who is with us tonight", they got a lot of different names all over the building. They heard Lincoln, Rita, Elijah, Isaac, Otto, Pete, Mark, and Holly. Some of the spirits seemed conflicted on this night. Through the Spirit Box they heard the words "Leave" and "Run" come through. But, when they asked if they should leave the space, a female's voice came through and said "No". When it did come time to leave for the night, as they investigators were walking back towards the Safe Room they heard "They're going" come across the Spirit Box.

Once again on Friday night, Kelley took the lead as investigator. Throughout the evening, one strange thing kept happening with the Spirit Box. It seemed like whenever there was a few moments of silence coming across the device, the sound of an old telephone ringing would come through. How strange!

Two names came through that night for the investigators- not only called through the Spirit Box, but came up on the Ovilus as well- Jim and Paul. A couple of other names were called when the investigators asked "Who is with us tonight". They heard Harriet, Carol, Jerry, Ted, Will, Dan, Doris, Yusef, and the name Jen came through a couple of times.

The battery on Kelley's phone drained extremely quick on Friday night. When she was "Are you draining my batter right now" they heard "She's smart" come through. Another more physical kind of activity that took place was kind of unsettling. While the investigators were in the Residual Area, they were getting chills pretty often as they were asking questions. But what really set them on edge was what sounded like dragging, or sliding, going on across the floor. All through this they could hear the voice of an old man coming across the Spirit Box saying "Listen".

Finally on Saturday night, Ted was our lead investigator. The investigators this night were all from Michigan and were ready to get to it! The Stage Area was particularly active this evening. The investigators walked up and asked "Is there anybody here besides us". Through the Spirit Box they heard "Hello". "What is your name", they asked. "Jim". Just then, the EMF Detector on one of the metal folding chairs started to flash. "Who is sitting in the chair", Ted asked. "Jim" was the reply. During all of this, one of the investigators was watching the CCTV monitors. As they were having the conversation with Jim, she could see the shadow of a figure standing in front of the Office where we keep the equipment, looking as though he was watching them on the Stage!

In the Slave Quarters, the investigators asked the Spirits to tell them how many of them were in the room. They asked "How many women are here". "Two" was the reply. "How many men are here". "Three" came through that time. Both of those numbers were the exact number of men and women investigating in the Slave Quarters at that time. Creepy!

The investigators didn't stay long in the Gribble House hot spot on Saturday night. One of the spirits in that space did not want them around. Although they could smell the scent of floral perfume, one of the spirits kept saying "Leave" over and over. When they did finally exit the space, they said "Thank you", as a farewell. Through the Spirit Box they heard "Thank you... bye".

A great week for us- and for our investigators! Lots of activity, and lots of fun; that's what it's all about. If you have anything you'd like to share with us, please do! Tag us with the @gribblehouse or #gribblehouse and we'll see it. Or, you can always send direct to info@gribblehouse.com.
