We say it every week, but it's true! We never had a bad week in the Gribble House. Lots of activity, lots of investigators, and lots of fun. Here's what happened-
The week started on Sunday night with Ted as our lead investigators. He had a really active night with investigators Amy and Shawna. Right away at the Stage Area, they started getting the characteristic sass from Paul. As Ted was snapping a few photos of the ladies, one of the girls said "Paul, show up in our picture". The response through the Ghost Box was "In a minute". As Ted continued to take photos they heard through the Spirit Box "Here comes a flash".
They did hear a full name come through on Sunday night, which is always cool. They asked who was conversing with them and "Julie" came through followed instantly by "Black". They asked Julie if she had anything to say and "Get out" came through in a woman's voice.
Floral perfume is almost always smelled in the Gribble House area, but in addition to that, Ted also could smell the scent of tobacco. The odd thing about that was when one of the ladies asked "Whose perfume is this" the word "Tobacco" came through the Ghost Box. When they moved to the Residual Area, Shawna felt like there was someone standing right next to her. While Ted took a few photos of her to see if anything came up on film, she asked "Who is standing next to me?". The response was "Jake".
Kelley was the lead investigator on Monday night with some new and some repeat investigators. Gale and Dave, who had investigated with us this past April, brought an SD card FULL of evidence they collected when they investigated last- awesome! We can't wait to go through all that good stuff.
The evening was very active. There seemed to be more and stronger EMF activity going on all over the building- and there was a good bit of orb activity showing up in the investigators photos. Gale and Dave brought over some of their own equipment and one of those were an EDI meter with a Geophone attached. They can detect EMF, temperature changes, and motions and vibrations. One of the cool things they were able to capture with that were flashed of light that would correspond with yes or no questions. Whenever their equipment would go off, it would line up with our own equipment and get similar results.
There was some unnerving phrases and words coming through the Ghost Box, almost all in whispers. When they used the Ovilus they read four words that came up very fast; Demon, Should, Loving, Carol. They decided to ask if there was a demon here and "Yes" came through. Then the whispers started saying "Find them", "Try to believe", "Killed Edward", "His heart", "She needs help", and "Please send". Very creepy.
Kelley was our lead again on Tuesday night. The Spirit Box was the star of the show that night. There seemed to be dozens of voices coming through that night. Not just men, which is what is usually heard, but lots of women and children as well. And instead of the normal, short, one word responses we generally hear, there were full phrases coming through. Whispers, soft voices, breathing, and more.
Some of the phrases that came through were fairly unsettling. They heard "Those who sacrifice", and "Become a spirit". Some were more mundane like "I'm a cop", ad "Turn it down". One particular ladies voice came through in several times in different areas of the building. Twice they heard her say "Lisa" and then "Pick Lisa". Other names came through, too- Edith, Hilary, Heidi, Albert, Tom, David, Billy, Ed, Eddy, Robert, Calvin, Black, and George, which was the name of one of our investigators.
While the Ghost Box was very active, the other equipment was active as well. Mostly in the form of EMF activity. The interesting thing about it was that the EMF detectors and the Raggedy Ann doll really only flashed when an investigator was holding it. That's unusual.
Ted was the lead investigator with a great group from Florida on Thursday night. It was a pretty cool evening. There were a lot of strange smells in the building that night. At the Stage Area, it was almost like the smell of rotten food, and what one of the investigators described as a "pig pen" smell. Then, in the Gribble House hot spot, the common scent of perfume was smelled once again. One of the investigators asked if it was Maggie wearing the perfume and a loud and clear "YES" came through the Ghost Box.
An unpleasant word continually came through the Spirit Box, in both the Stage Area, and then in the Gribble House area. When they asked if Maggie was at the Stage Area, they heard "Maggie", and then "Rape... rape... rape...". When they moved to the Gribble House area, one of the investigators asked "Maggie, were you raped", and "Rape" came through the Spirit Box once again.
There was some good EMF activity in the building on Thursday night, as well. One of the investigators picked up the Raggedy Ann doll and she started flashing steadily. When another investigators placed the K-II Meter near the Doll, it started to spike very hard. To top the whole night off, when the investigators moved to the Residual Area, everyone could hear a slow "tap... tap... tap..." coming from the door right next to the stairs...
Friday night in the Gribble House was strange and active. Kelley and Kait were the lead investigators. It seemed like there was a lot of random chatter going on through the Ghost Boxes, with no real definitive answers coming through no matter what kind of questions the investigators asked. That is, until Kait walked over to one of the groups. All of a sudden, their Ghost Box went oddly silent. Kait asked if the spirits hated her and wanted her to go and "Of course" came through. Once she left, the chatter began again.
In the Gribble House area, they heard from a little girl spirit who told them her name was Mary. They asked Mary if she would like to sit next to Allison, one of the investigators, where they had a Ghost Meter Pro set up. After they asked if she would like to sit, the GM Pro lit right up and then "Mary" came through over the Spirit Box in a different, adult voice.
Over in the Residual Haunt area, both Kelley and Kait was the black shadow figure moving around. That's always an eerie sight.
And finally, Saturday night with Kelley as lead investigator for TWO big tours. We had a lot of fun on our first tour of the evening, and a lot of ladies investigating. Maybe that's why there seemed to be so many female voices coming through the Spirit Box on the first tour. Everything from "Help", "Help me", and "Wish" came through in different ladies voices. One of the investigators even got a female voice that said "Shhhhhhush" to her when she was giggling about asking the spirit to touch a specific red light, and a different light lit up.
Some of the ladies investigating saw a creepy sight- the figure of a person walking across the screen on the CCTV in an area where no one was at. When they asked if the spirit could walk though again they heard "Yea, sure" come through the Ghost Box. Just then, a very large and clear orb flew across the screen.
Another group investigating was a bridal party who started their night in the Gribble House area. They had the most action with the Ovilus. The first thing they read was "Human" and then 'Demon" right in a row. The Ovilus really showed its stuff when one of the investigators asked if someone was standing behind her and the Ovilus read "Under". Just after this, they moved into the Slave Quarters and one of the ladies felt someone touch her hair. In fact, the entire time she was in the Slave Quarters she had a strong tingling sensation on the top of her head.
The second investigation of the evening was just as fun, and just as active. There was quite a bit of Spanish coming through the Ghost Box on the second go around. They also heard some words that had to do with the Spanish responses, as well. Words like "Cook house", and "Haitian".
One of the more interesting things that happened was in the Slave Quarters. One of the investigators was walking and moving towards the antlers that are hung on the wall. Over the Spirit Box they heard "Get away from that" and then "Touch". Creepy!
