Investigation Update 8.30.2015

Yet another great week of investigation at the Gribble House! Here's what's been happening...

Our week at GHPE started this past Sunday night. Susannah was our lead investigator, and they had some good activity in the warehouse. One of the more interesting things that happened was near the gated area where Susannah set up the motion sensors and REM pod. The motion sensors would light up and then the REM pod in turn. Back and forth, back and forth, like someone was walking between them.

The Slave Quarters was the most active area, though. One of the guests investigating, Joe, was walking around in the room and when he went to move the curtain against the wall to look behind it, he had his named called through the Ghost Box. Another group was using the Ghost Box and the EMF detector to get some responses. They asked if anyone in the room would like to touch the EMF detector on the sink and a little girl responded through the Spirit Box "I can't reach".

The Residual Area was very active, as well. One of the guests had an in-depth conversation with a spirit who told them his was a soldier, he was in the infantry, but he wasn't in the engineers. Susannah kept trying to take pictures of the investigators while they were in the Residual Area, but every time she kept trying to snap a photo she got a strange reflection- like a huge halo of light bouncing back.

Ted was our lead investigator on Tuesday night, with a great group of folks with him. When they had first started the investigation, Ted could distinctly hear the sound of a folding chair being moved and then slammed. He went over to the Stage Area, but they said they didn't hear anything. So, Ted then went to the Slave Quarters and they said they couldn't hear anything either. But then later, when one group was in the Gribble House area and the other was at the Stage, they all could hear the sound of the folding chair coming from the Residual Area. Strange!

At the Stage Area, Paul was his usual nasty and crude self. Anthony and Bethany, two investigators, were talking with him, and Paul called them a "Brat". He then proceeded to tell Anthony to "Shut up, idiot" after he asked a question. Cara and Brenden, two other investigators, were called idiots as well.

In the Slave Quarters, there was some good activity with the EMF detector and the Raggedy Ann doll. The investigators and Ted could see the hand and the detector light up at the same time, several times in a row. But, after a minute or two, it didn't happen again.

What a good night Wednesday was! Kelley was the lead investigator, and there was a good bit of activity in the warehouse. Alex and Ruby investigated with Kelley and got some really good responses. The Slave Quarters was the most active it's been in a while- and it's usually our most active spot! Lots and lots of EMF and Raggedy Ann doll activity that coupled with some intelligent responses with the Ghost Box. For example. Kelley asked if anyone was behind the curtain and "No one" was the response. The words "Rape", "Demon", and then "Scared" all came through in rapid succession. Strange breaths, whispers, and sniffles could be heard coming through the Spirit Box, as well.

Lots of names came through the Spirit Box that night. They heard Tom, Susan, Phillip, Henry, Edward, Anne, Ruby, Scott, Rachael, Tupac, Paul, and Susan. Two different words and names kept coming through the Spirit Box. The name Susan, or Sue, came through in every area of the building, that is, except for the Slave Quarters. The word "Ditch" also came through across the entire building.

Susannah lead the group on Thursday evening. As soon as the investigators entered the warehouse, there was lots of activity greeting them. They started the night at the Stage Area, and Paul was very active- if not very friendly. He kept repeating the word "Bitch" over and over, at least four times. The EMF detector went off quite a few times, spiking up all the way to the red. The REM Pod was placed on the rail by the Stage and was fairly quiet- except for a two minute period. The REM Pod lit up and went crazy for a solid two minutes before petering off and not making a peep for the rest of the night.

At one point, Susannah was explaining where she had put the Raggedy Ann doll, which was on the Stage. By accident, she had said she put it on the desk. Back tracking she said, "I mean, the stage. That doesn't even remotely look like a stage", and then the Ghost Box broke out in clear, distinct laughter.

In the Slave Quarters, there were quite a few children trying to communicate. They all seemed to be looking for their mothers. They could hear a little boy say "Momma" very quietly. Then much louder they heard "MOOOOM". Very sad.

On Friday night, Kait and Braden led the charge. The Residual Area was pretty active. One interesting response that they got was with a little child. They asked if anyone owned any pets and the response was in a child's voice: "A dog". One of the investigators asked if they could see the Lady in White, and the response was "We can see her".

The Gribble House was pretty active, too. One of the guests spotted a shadow inside the caged Storage Area moving around. Another guest heard a lady speaking through the Ghost Box. When she asked if it was Carrie, the response they got was "Yes". Someone wasn't very happy in the Gribble House area. There was a lot of crying and screaming in a female voice.

Finally, Saturday night! Kelley and Braden were our lead investigators. There were two tours last night. On the first tour, there was a great mother/daughter team of Lucy and Natasha. Some of the most interesting responses they got were in the Gribble House area. They asked about the murders that took place in that area and asked how the spirits had died. They heard "Axe" and then "They're dead".

The entire Warehouse seemed to be very heavy and sad. They got a lot of "Leave"s and "Get out"s in every area of the building. Lucy kept getting chills even though the building was quite warm.

The second investigation had a lot of Ghost Box responses. In the Gribble House area there were some strange conversations. At one point the word "Happened" came through. When the investigators asked what had happened, the got the response of "Maggots". The group asked if the spirit would like to show them what had happened and "Okay" came through. The investigators got a full sentence, too. "You're,.. going... to be... okay" came through, all in the same voice over about six seconds of time.  Very cool!

When they went into the Slave Quarters, they got some immediate responses. "Begin", "Hi there", and "Speak up" all came through right away. After a few minutes they heard "Leave". When they asked if they should leave they heard "Step off". At another time during the investigation in the Slave Quarters, they asked the spirits if they could lower the temperature and the temp dropped from 86 degrees all the way down to 81!

Investigation Update 8.23.2015

We really had a great week in the Gribble House. So much activity, lots of exciting evidence collected, and some great investigators. Here's what happened...

Our week started on Sunday evening, when Susannah and Ted led the investigation. There was activity all over the warehouse. One guest, Andy, came into the building saying he was a "scaredy cat", but that didn't stop him from asking the right kind of questions! He and his girlfriend, Angela, seemed to have found the sweet spot that night with their line of questioning- they got a lot of reactions through both the Spirit Box, and physically! Angela kept being touched on the leg, and most of the responses they got through the Spirit Box were direct answers to the questions they were asking.

At the Stage Area, Angela asked if a spirit would say someone's name and "ANDY" was yelled through the Ghost Box. Another investigator, Catherine, was told that she was "Nice" by one spirit, and then told she was "Evil" by another.

Catherine had another interesting experience in the Gribble House area. That signature smell, floral and strong, came through the area. Catherine thought that it smelled like magnolias, so she asked if there was a tree outside. "No tree" came through the Spirit Box right away. Susannah had set the motion sensors in front of the big gate by the Gribble House area, and they went off three times throughout the evening- always with the REM pod going off at the same time!

Ted was our lead investigator on Monday night with a great couple and an awesome mother and daughters team. The couple, Dave and Denise, had some great reactions at the Stage Area. Denise had her name come through the Ghost Box several times, one of those times being combined with her shirt sleeve being tugged on! Dave asked Paul some questions that got some typical Paul-like responses. "Can you come closer and touch the green light", Dave asked him. Paul responded "Dave, why should I?".

The mom/ daughters team of Lynn, Carrie, and Corrie had a lot of activity in the Slave Quarters and in the Gribble House areas. In the Gribble House area, Carrie had her name called twice through the Spirit Box. One of the times her name was said it was followed by "I love you". In the Slave Quarters, Carrie and Corrie both had their names. When it was time for them to leave the room, they stood up and "Leave" came through the Ghost Box.

On Wednesday night, Kait was our lead investigator. The Raggedy Ann doll was the star of the show, that night. Immediately after starting the investigation, the Doll started flashing As they went into the Slave Quarters for the first time that night, she continued to go off! One of the ladies investigating, Lisa, had her name called over and over through the Spirit Box. A different voice came through the Spirit Box and said the name Dale. When the investigators asked who Dale was, the response was "You'll see"...

In the Gribble House area, that same perfume smell came through, Kait decided to ask who was wearing the scent, and the response they got was "Amber". Raggedy Ann continued to go off, her hands lighting up almost constantly. One of the investigators asked who was touching the doll and "Lucy" was the answer.

The dynamic duo of Kelley and Braden were our leads on Friday night. Even though there was activity over the entire warehouse, the Slave Quarters was very active that night. Lots of EMF, GM Pro, Doll, and Spirit Box activity. One of men investigating asked if any of the spirits wanted to touch his friend Katie's hair and make it move, and right after that you could see her hair move off her shoulders! Crazy! As the man was telling Katie what had happened, because she didn't quite believe him, "It did" came through the Ghost Box.

There was one very interesting, long conversation that took place in the Slave Quarters, as well. It all started when one of the investigators asked if the spirits liked music, and if the spirits would like us to play that kind of music for them and "Play it" came through. Then, "Billie Ray" was said. Another spirit voice came through and asked "Who is that?". "Billie Ray" came through again. Our investigator said he didn't have that kind of music, and "Who's this woman" came through in four different syllabus in a female voice. Very strange and cool.

The other group investigating had a lot of luck in the Gribble House area. When they walked into that area, the immediately heard "Leave" come through the Spirit Box. They got a few names to come through, like Russell, Victor, Hank, and Bill. One of the more interesting things that they noticed was that whenever the Ghost Box would get quiet and they wouldn't hear really anything coming through, would be the same time that the REM Pod and the motion sensors would be going off in front of the gate.

Saturday night was with the repeat duo of Kelley and Braden! Lots of intelligent responses through the Ghost Box all evening long. One of the investigators, Logan, was definitely a natural. She got a lot of responses through the Spirit Box in response to her questioning. One of the more interesting ones was when she asked why the spirits were here and "Delayed" was the response. One of the spirits who was coming through kept asking the same question over and over. "Who are you?" Even after they would tell him their names, he would only respond with "Who are you?".

Right at the same time that Logan was getting that response. the other group was on the Stage conversing with Paul. One of the investigators told Paul that her best friend's boyfriend was also named Paul and the very sarcastic response of "No?!" came through.

In addition to the regular Spirit Box responses, there were a few additional responses that came through. Temperature drops would happen on cue, and at one point they could hear the sounds of children crying coming through the Ghost Box.

Investigation Update 8.16.2015

Yet another good week of investigations in the Gribble House- here's what's been happening...

Our week started on Sunday this past week, with Kelley as lead investigator. Even before the "official" investigation began, there was quite a lot of activity buzzing about the warehouse. As Kelley was setting up the equipment for the night, the Spirit Box was calling out voices. She heard "Sin", "Pray", and "I feel alive" as she put up the other devices.

When the investigators joined Kelley for the night, the activity just increased. Paul, our resident shopkeeper, was active at the Stage Area. Every time the investigators asked if Paul was there, or if Paul would like to talk, they would get the response of "Yes" through the Ghost Box. One of the ladies asked if Paul would touch her arm and "Yes... touch" came through. Paul was then asked when he died and the response was a bit surprising. "Today", Paul replied.

One of the other more common spirits we hear from, Yusef, came through on Sunday night, as well. One of the investigators asked who was in the warehouse with them that night and "Yusef" was the response. Kelley asked him if he was from the Middle East and "Kuwait" came through the Spirit Box.

Kelley was in charge again on Monday night as lead investigator. The spirits in the building were both very kind and very rude on Monday. At the Stage Area, one investigator was called a "Whore" and "She's a slut", then "Freak" came through. But, then a minute or two later, when she asked the spirits if they would like to have a drink, "Cheers" was the response. Frank was heard from at the Stage Area, as well, and not only did he say his own name several times, but he also said the name of one of the investigators. "Carmen, Carmen" kept coming through, as well as "Cute".

Another group of investigators were getting good responses using the flashlights. One of the guests asked if the spirits would like it if she shined her flashlight in the room, and "Light" was said through the Ghost Box. Once she turned the light on, "Stop" came through. When another investigator asked if the spirit liked the light or the dark, they heard "None". He asked again, "You don't like the light"? The response they got was a yell- "NONE", then "Get out".

The lead investigator was Susannah on Tuesday night, and she had a great group with her. Steady activity throughout the entire evening.

One experience that the entire group had together was in the Gribble House area. As they walked into the hotspot, everyone could smell the scent of floral perfume- very strong! In fact, one of the guests had a very poor sense of smell, but even she could smell the perfume very clearly.

Most of the activity that night was in the Slave Quarters, with the Raggedy Ann doll. The investigators would ask any spirits to hold the dolls hands, and each side would light up- like the spirit was standing in front, facing the doll.

There also was a great moment with two devices that night, where the Spirit Box directly correlated with a response on the Ovilus screen. A voice came over the Spirit Box and said "Birthday", with just a moment later the Ovilus flashing "Present". Pretty cool!

Kelley was our lead again on Wednesday night. Two of the ladies investigating, Emily and Teresa, had some great, full conversations through the Ghost Box, with a lot of back and forth. While they were in the Slave Quarters, the first question they asked when walking in was "Is there anyone here with us", and "Sit" was the response. When they asked if it would be alright to take pictures, "You" came through- every time they would take a photo after that the word "Flash" would come through the Spirit Box!

As they sat in the Slave Quarters, the activity got stronger and stronger. One of the ladies asked if the spirit they were conversing with was sitting next to her and "Behind you" was the response. She asked what his name was and "Sir" came through. "Sir?", she asked, and "Yes, sir" came back.

The other group investigating had some good activity at the Stage Area. As they walked into that area "Yellow" came through the Spirit Box. The investigators asked if that was his favorite color, and "YES" came through loudly and very promptly. As they settled into asking questions, some elicited more of a response than others. One of the questions they asked was "How did you die"? The response was strange... "Do... you... see... me..." came through, in three different voices. Very strange.

Thursday night was great as well, with Dani and Ted as our lead investigators. The activity level was steady throughout the night. The Stage Area was pretty good, with a lot of activity happening with the EMF detector. The device kept flashing throughout the evening. Again, someone on the Stage was being rude to the investigators. The words "Bitch" and "Jerk" came through. One of the guests asked "Who are you calling a bitch?!". The response was "All of you", followed by laughter.

In the Slave Quarters, two guests had some physical responses to being in different portions of the room. One investigator said that it was hard from him to swallow, and could feel pressure while he was sitting next to the Raggedy Ann doll. Another investigator said it was hard for her to breath whenever she tried to look behind the curtain...

Finally, last evening! Kelley and Kait were our duo lead investigators, and it was quite a night!

In the Slave Quarters, there were some interesting exchanges through the Spirit Box. The investigators asked "How old are you" and "I forgot" was the response. Then they asked "Are you angry?". "Yes" as the response. "Are you friendly?", they asked then and "I guess" came through the Ghost Box. The conversation continued with "You don't have to be afraid of us" and "I'm not" was the answer they got.

Those who have been in the Slave Quarters before know that there are a small set of deer antlers sitting on the table. As the group was sitting in there, the word "Deer" was called through the Spirit Box. "Do the deer antler bother you?", one the investigators asked. "Yes" was the response. When she asked why they bothered him "Death" was the reply, in a female voice.

One of the guests in the Slave Quarters had a dramatic drop in temperature associated with him. He could feel some pressure and coolness on his neck. When another investigator aimed the digital thermometer at his neck, the temperature was a stunning 32 degrees! As they held the line there, they could see the temperature slowly rise back up to 85 degrees. Crazy!

Lots of seemingly random words came through the Spirit Box. "Talk", "Answer", "Can I", "Who", "Teacher", "Relate", "Indian", "Partner", "Move", "Suffering", "City", "Help", "Woman", "Sit", Hurt", "Stole", "Dance"... all came through the Ghost Box.

What a great week! Look forward to hearing some EVP clips from the week, and if you've captured anything, be sure to pass it our way! Or, you can tag us with @gribblehouse or #gribblehouse.
